Co-working centres

In the last few years, and especially since Covid-19, workspaces have changed for many people. Office work has become flexible, with many employees working remotely and dialling in from home, cafes or even the outdoors. Another option is to use a co-working space, as I do. Co-working centres are perfect for the self-employed, freelancers, remote workers and students. There are several options in Tashkent, as listed below.

IMPACT.T (Technology Hub)

IMPACT.TERRITORY grabbed my attention because it is not only a co-working space but also a technology hub, that is, an accelerator for creative people who develop companies or products that can positively influence the world. I’ve met a lot of unique people there. The hub occupies four floors and has a terrace with a private garden. There are closed and open workplaces, areas for negotiations and meetings, and a space for events.

Hub.module

Another place I love because of its convenient rooms and cosy library is Hub.module, a co-working space where people can raise their productivity and work in an atmosphere of calm and comfort. It has everything you need for work and more:

  • a Zoom room for making videocalls

  • a negotiation room

  • a lecture hall for master classes, seminars and other gatherings

  • a soft zone with a mini-library

  • a kitchen equipped with refrigerator and microwave

  • a bathroom with showers

  • WiFi.

C-Space

C-Space has three branches around the city. It provides both indoor and outdoor office space, as well as a gym and a spa. When I work at C-Space, I can take advantage of these facilities: if it’s a stressful day, I can go to the spa to relax; if I feel like working out – something I often have to skip because of lack of time – I can pop into the gym during a break from work. There are also meeting rooms, conference rooms and mini-offices that can accommodate from 4 to 12 people.

Hourly pass ≈ $2; daily pass ≈ $9

GroundZero

GroundZero, one of the first co-working centres in the capital, has three branches: GroundZero Kitob Olami and GroundZero Minor. My favourite is GroundZero Kitob Olami. I love the interior design and the desks with soft lighting, which make the work environment comfortable and cosy. Both branches have secluded offices, high-speed wireless Internet, lockers for storing personal belongings, meeting rooms and a conference room. Each work table is equipped with sockets; each venue also provides all the necessary stationery and office equipment, and a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, sweets, tea and fresh coffee beans. Both locations often host events with local and international speakers.
