7. Paper making

See the ancient technology of the mulberry bark papermaking. Within the Eternal City there is a paper workshop where craftsmen produce famous Samarkand paper by hand. Since ancient times, Samarkand has been a centre for papermaking; craft spread from here throughout the ancient East. Here you can observe the master craftsmen at work, and learn about the different types of paper and their purpose. The colour, density, and drying time of the paper are dependent on what it will be used for: making books or writing letters, or as packaging for food and household items. 

8. Fishing

Experience the joy of catching fish with a rod. Not far from Ayvan restaurant on the lake shore, there are cosy gazebos where you can relax in the company of loved ones. A fishing rod and bait are provided. Catch whatever you can from the lake, and a master chef will then come to your table to cook it on your behalf.
