Akbar House Collection on the Cover

Bukhara antique gallery Akbar House Collection is on the cover of February's The World Of Interiors.

If you ever find yourself in the centre of Bukhara, you may well stumble upon Akbar House, which sells some of the rarest and most luxurious antiques the Uzbek city has to offer. Specialising primarily in textiles, Mastura and Khakimov Akbar sell carpets, old traditional clothing, ikats, suzanes, scarves and shawls, as well as other Central Asian curiosities.
Khakimov's collection is large and varied, and includes all kinds of folk arts and crafts. Akbar Khakimov collected his entire collection over a long period of time, but most of the works were inherited from his father and grandfather and passed down from generation to generation. Bukhara, as it is known, is an ancient centre of culture, there are so many unique things here, which, of course, gave the collector the opportunity to update, buy and expand the collection.
The monthly interior design magazine The World Of Interiors chose Bukhara antique gallery Akbar House Collection for the cover of the February issue. It should be noted that The World Of Interiors has been published since 1981. The magazine was founded in London, its first name was Interiors. Now it is published by the American publishing house Conde Nast. A significant part of the readers work in the directions related to design.
